It’s almost that time again! Warm fall days are right around the corner, and over at GRIP, we’re getting ready to hold our 39th Annual Harmony Walk (In the Park!). Come to the usual spot, Nicholl Park, on Saturday, October 18th, at 10:00 am for a host of things to do. You can walk away with a sweet raffle prize, play pickleball or cornhole, entertain your kids, hear Richmond leaders speak, listen to some great live music, visit our tabling organizations, and more. The best part? We’ve made a big change this year and are holding this event completely for free. That means you can enjoy all that the Harmony Walk has to offer at no cost. We’ll still be selling shirts with a brand-new, original design, along with other GRIP merch à-la-carte for those who still want to rep the Harmony Walk year-round. Additionally, we’re planning to have a wide selection of food trucks in attendance, offering a range of price options.

We are looking forward to hosting the joyful funk-jazz band Suitcase, who provided a lively and memorable performance at one of GRIP’s Saturday lunch hours this month, and other live performers, including musicians, poets, and speakers. Our biggest raffle prize of the past few years – two tickets to Disneyland! – are up for grabs once again this year, along with gift certificates to well-loved local businesses and other prizes. Following tradition, we’ll host a short walk to GRIP and back to show event attendees around our shelter facility; we are currently in the process of renovating our garden and playground, and will be thrilled to show these to our community supporters. After the walk, we encourage folks to lay out blankets and chairs at the park and enjoy the sunshine. As always, there will be plenty of activities for little ones, from bounce houses to a craft table.

We hope to see you there! Please reach out to Committee Chair Jilly de la Torre at jilliandlt@gmail.com if you are interested in sponsoring the event/making a donation, want to hold a table at the event, or have any questions.
