The 37th Annual GRIP Harmony Walk to End Hunger & Homelessness on October 28th, 2023 raised $46,266 for the shelter and services, even as additional donations are still flowing in. The event, hosted by KTVU weather anchor Roberta Gonzales and featuring remarks from the San Francisco Chronicle’s Kevin Fagan, Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, city leaders, and community groups included a tour of the shelter, live music from member organizations, booths from sponsors, plus food trucks and a bouncy house.
“The weather was perfect, the speakers were perfect, the music was uplifting, and our GRIP staff was incredible, welcoming the community in for tours and snacks and setting up for the event. We’re just thrilled to bring the community together in this way and to show such big revenue numbers, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and the community,” said board of directors member and Harmony Walk volunteer Brandon Mercer.
